RYAN VICTOR MIRANDA
Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, Class of 2013 Valedictorian
“I cannot forget those early volunteer works as an SLA student because they have paved the way to develop in me a deeper desire to pursue a career towards peace and conflict resolution. The SLA and the whole Ateneo community have encouraged me to open my eyes to the truth and spread my wings to see the reality in the different corners of the world. In the Ateneo, I have learned to love humanity profoundly.”
Where do SLA graduates go? Where they are needed, of course!
SLA alumnus Ryan Victor Miranda has been involved in peace-building and development work for the past six years: the local government unit; development program that enhances government accountability and engagement in post-conflict areas; adolescent development and participation program for youth in recovery shelters displaced by armed conflicts; Philippine government’s Youth Commission; Development Academy handling the Public Management program for Public Safety Officers; Cabinet Secretary’s Office; and finally at the Government’s Peace Process.
Early this year, Ryan officially joined the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process which will soon be called the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU).
