Music Education Department

As part of a Filipino University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. provide basic information about music, its styles, forms, terminologies and other facts that are fundamental for knowledge of the art;
2. develop love for Filipino music;
3. develop ability to read notations and musical terms and use them in music activities; and
4. develop an understanding of standards for judging the quality of music and music performance.

As part of a Secondary Preparatory school, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. equip and prepare the students with the fundamental knowledge, concepts and skills in music and physical education needed in high school.

As part of a Catholic University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. provide a means of achieving wholesome social and emotional satisfaction; and
2. develop an enjoyment and understanding of music to enrich the lives of children in and out of school.

As part of a Jesuit University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. develop confidence and creative self-expression and the ability to communicate one’s ideas to others;
2. promote international friendship and understanding; and
3. develop love of God, country and a feeling of oneness among the people.

Arts Education Department

As part of a Filipino University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. provide free hand drawing and other art activities suited for Elementary School children;
2. develop in the children creativity and the ability to spontaneously relate with their environment; and
3. develop a sensitivity for beauty at home, at school and in the community.

As part of a Catholic University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. develop the children’s awareness and aesthetic skills in judging and discriminating available materials for utilization; and
2. provide children with wholesome experience for the maximum personal growth.

As part of a Jesuit University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. develop civic resposnsibility, social awareness and group cooperation;
2. develop in the students the value and respect for artistic expression; and
3. develop self-confidence and creative self-expression and the ability to communicate one’s ideas to others.

Physical Education Department

As part of a Filipino University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. develop definite social and ethical finesse, which characterize good citizenship in a democratic society.

As part of a Catholic University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. enhance the school P.E. program to produce a Christian Filipino who is physically mentally and socially sound.

As part of a Jesuit University, the Music Education Department aims to:

1. develop sportsmanship and desirable social attitudes;
2. develop love for sports as a means of keeping oneself physically fit;
3. develop teamwork/cooperation/unity among students;
4. develop respect for authority and abide by the decision of the official of the games;
5. develop patience during practices to achieve perfection in the sports he/she is participating in;
6. develop care for the carious athletic equipment borrowed;
7. train students to be responsible and honest that is, to return borrowed equipment as expected of him/her; and humble oneself to accept one’s capabilities and weaknesses.
