AdZU-CTM to Hold First Reg’l Confab on Measurement and Evaluation in Education
 
The Center for Testing and Measurement will be hosting the first Regional Conference on Measurement and Evaluation in Education with the theme Innovation in Assessment to meet Changing Needs on May 4-5, 2009, at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.The conference, which will be held in coordination with the Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM) will provide a venue for school assessment practitioners to share their expertise in the latest trends, best practices and technologies in educational measurement and evaluation.

Dr. Allan Benedict I. Bernardo of De La Salle University- Manila will be the keynote speaker on the topic Educational Assessment and School Improvement: Prospects and Challenges in the Development of Formative Assessment Tests that would Help Improve Student Learning in Philippine Schools. A series of plenary seminars and workshops on the following topics will be delivered by experienced practitioners and educators – Using Data to Improve Instruction and Learning, Alternative Assessment in Teaching and Learning (Developing and Managing Student Portfolios), Assessing Growth in Teaching and Learning Using New Technologies, and Integrating Metacognitive Knowledge in Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

Administrators, teachers and guidance counselors of all levels from all over the region are invited to participate in this conference. The registration fee, which covers the conference kit, handouts, a certificate of participation, snacks and lunches during the 2-day conference is P1,800.00.
