If you want to travel or emigrate to an English-speaking country, IELTS is the test for you. IELTS is trusted and recognized by immigration authorities and government departments in almost all English-speaking countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
If you want to study in an English-speaking country, IELTS is also the test for you. Universities and other institutions of further and higher education in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Hongkong, New Zealand, Europe, Ireland and Canada all recognize and use IELTS scores.
IELTS is also used by universities, employers and public bodies in many other countries throughout the world.
Fair and reliable
IELTS uses a unique nine point scoring system to measure and report test scores in a consistent manner – wherever and whenever the test is taken. This scoring system is internationally recognized and understood, giving test takers a reliable international currency.
IELTS encourages, reflects and respects international diversity and is fair to anyone who sits the tests, regardless of nationality, background, gender or lifestyle. An international team of writers contribute to IELTS test materials and we invest in on-going research to ensure that IELTS remains fair and unbiased – wherever and whenever you sit the test.

Registration Procedure
You have to register for the test before you can be placed on the list for a particular test date. As these fill up quickly, it is recommended that you register as soon as possible. Beware that registration for a particular test date is based on the payment of the test fee on a first come first serve basis. The deadline for submission of application is set two weeks prior to a certain test date, for test conducted in Manila and provincial testing centers.
Fill in the Application Form and send it or take it to the test center with the following:
- Valid National ID (any of the following maybe considered as a valid ID)
Passport (valid at least 6 months before test date)
PRC Professional ID
SSS ID card
GSIS e-card
- Photocopy of ID
- 2 pieces of 2 x 2 (or passport-sized) colored photos
- Test fee of PhP 8,640.00
The Application Form must be duly filled in and manual signed by the candidate. Keep pages i – iv of the Application Form and read regulations carefully. Candidates taking the test outside their own country must present a passport. The form can be submitted by any of the following methods:
- Walk-in application
- By courier of post. Send the complete form along with all requirements (except original ID) including payment to IDP Office
Test fee can be paid in cash or cashier’s/ manager’s check. Checks must be written out to:

Credit card payments (Visa and MasterCard only) are acceptable for over-the-counter-transactions.
Test Modules:
- Academic – This should be taken by those applying for tertiary undergraduate and post graduate courses and TAFE courses. Also, note that most professional nurses associations require that academic module.
- General Training – This should be taken by those who are going to English speaking countries to complete their Secondary education, to undertake work experience or training programs not at degree level, or for immigration purposes.
Note: Consult your respective Assessing Authority on which module to take.
